The expression of the boy is just wonderful and darkening the rest of the frame works great

it is nearly a straight print with very little dodging/burning...printing the background even darker was considered but it worked out too "heavy"

Very nice shot. All in all at my monitor slightly too dark.

I would say it's waaaaay too dark...

...and I would say it works well!

Not many photographers would defy the conventions so openly. This would fall under the category of "fearless printing". Nicely done!
