In Memory of Steve Witser

A memorial to my high school friend Steve Witser, a supremely talented trombonist who died unexpectedly a week ago at the age of 48.

Made yesterday for World Wetplate Collodion Day.

Very clever, and a beautiful homage. It's good to see some of your wet plate work again, Kerik!

Thanks for the feedback. I typically don't pre-visualize my images. They usually happen on the groundglass not in my head. This one started in my head and appeared on the plate as I had hoped. The slide is missing from the trombone for a reason... The star-like collodion artifact in the upper right was pure serendipity. Which is one of the things I really love about this process. That and the black fingers. Here's some info about Steve http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/news.php?id=34863 So sad...
