I am very surprised that ONLY a UV filter was used. The sky is rather dark and seems that you had to have an orange filter? But, maybe there is enough sensitivity with the latest TMX to allow this dark sky to manifest. I don't know. - David Lyga
Yes. I was wondering about the colour of the sky myself with only a UV filter. I think it is TMax that does have the ability to darken a blue sky compared to other films. Just a bit surprised that at the latitude of Holland TMax has the ability to darken it that much

Thank you gentlemen !
I guess it's my incapability that creates such phenomena ... Exposure issues; developing issues, sca... problems - who knows? Glad you like it!
I like this series on the tall ships -- don't get to see that every day. As to the sky, I have noticed sometimes when the air is relatively clear and you shoot away from the sun not directly overhead, the sky can be surprisingly dark. I've had color shots that looked like I might have used a polarizer but hadn't. Unfortunately those conditions are not frequent or conjured up at will!
Well if DWThomas is correct then the relatively dark sky with a UV only, might be peculiar to the circumstances on the day and cannot be easily replicated. On the other hand it might be TMax 100 that does have this ability. What is certain it that is it not the result of your incapability, macfred. I have seen too many of your photographs for that to be true.
@DWThomas Thank you for your explanation - I think you are right. I shot a few rolls Ektar the same day / same conditions - the sky looks darker than expected.
