Oh, and i like this detail hinge and woodwork. (post-amble up front). Wasn't this stuff done elegantly back in the day? Ouch! - danged splinter and that 24mm is just great wide open if it is as sharp as it seems to be. But seriously this holds terrific resolution it seems to me in the gallery, compared to my uploads of 8x10 negatives scanned at 100MB on a drum scanner. I must be doing something wrong in my resizing and compression to meet apug limits.
'Wish you could see the scan, if not the real door. That door at 1st Pres - covered in cloth, carved brass knob. Yup, I'm hopelessly in love w/ craftsmanship. 'Gotta say, Nodda Duma's shot just leaves me shocked. Excellent photo, but when you add that he mixed & made the emulsion also, I'm just humbled. Incredible skill & talent by some here.
Beautiful photograph - excellent details on this old craftmanship ! I have a Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 AIS and I really like it with my F4 and FA - but it needs to be stopped down a little ...
Ah. Fred, thanks for the tip about stopping down some. With 35mm, I try to be near 5.6, 'cause that seems where most 35 lens are sharpest (certainly there are exceptions). In MF, I try for f16 for the same reason. That humble little 24 has been so good to me it almost takes on a superstitious status. If I could make a composition work w/ the 24 - I'll use that just because of the confidence factor. Your F4 really performed on the shots of industrial structures. The latest w/ the Ikonta are even better.
