'Nuther old Ford :)
For those that wouldn't have reason to know - early-mid 60s car - about the size of a Toyota Celica that went 0-100 back to 0 under 15s. You could tell one was around by the way the ground shook.
And a selfie too? I like the colors and the graphic quality of the composition. What camera did you use?

Shelby Cobra, I drooled over those for years. I knew a Psychiatrist in Boise who had one of the kit Cobra replicas. Sweet.

And cool photo by the way. I missed the selfie part, that's really cool too.

This was a kit car - reproduction. 'Arguably better than the orig for handling, creature comforts, etc. The film was Lomo 400 (thank you, Sly). No matter how hard I try, the selfies sneak in. I've stood away from the camera balancing on one leg, barely reaching the cable release - and I'm in there anyway. 'Love the cars, but wouldn't want to own. The big blocks don't handle. As the link showed in the Model A shot - I liked the mid-engine Cleveland-powered Ford  But the Cobra was a revolution. It would be at least 20 yrs before it was matched for anything under $100k.
Camera was a 500cm/80mm w/ polarizer. Probably others know this & I'm very late to the party, but with anything but Portra, I need the polarizer to keep saturation from hurting the eyes.

A very clean image here from this closeup. Although the headers with lake-pipes were a neat look they could be plenty dangerous for burns if you did not pay attention. Worked with a guy who owned one of the kit-cars. They were very nice, but nothing like the original stuff from the muscle car era.
I was a hardcore Chevy man and drag raced the product for 20+ years. Last car I built was a 77 Vega fastback with a 406 C.I. bow-tie small block & Brodix aluminum heads. Ran it in NHRA Super Gas on the 9.80 index. Best time was 9.70 @ 140mph in the 1/4 mile.

Goodness, Trail - would never know you had some motor days. Nines are pretty intense. In theory, my 2whl steed will do it - but I won't (GSX1K).
The inclusion of the pipes was from my memory of the Basso Profundo when these idle - just intoxicating.

Wow!
I do soooo miss my Aussie Ford XR6 Turbo...
Likely the fastest car I've ever driven and it didn't cost a small country's ransom:
0-60 in 4.9secs flat, 60-120 in another 7!
Unreal performance from a car that cost less than 50grand Pacific Pesos!
Will never forgive Ford Australia for having stopped making them!

The police pursuit cars used to have a go at catching me on the freeway to Canberra, just for fun!
Some already knew my car and waved me on and off with a smile!

Like this one though, I wouldn't dare push it around a corner...
But the Cobra is still in my sights if nothing else for a rental drive. Dream car, if ever there was one!

Great photo, thanks for sharing it.

Nsouto, big smile. Its a pleasure to at least once, have a buggy that you love & gives a thrill. I'd not heard of the XR6, but the Car & Driver sub-title gave me a good smile.
"We get the Taurus. Mr. and Mrs. Australia get a kick-butt cop cruiser."
After a *very* long dry spell (70s-mid 90s) we finally have the thrills back, but at nosebleed prices. Now they outstrip our driving or even perception/processing ability. 'Scared the daylight outta me to finish the break-in requirements on a literbike - needing to bounce the rev-limiter a few times (13.5k). That's triple digits in first, but I didn't have the skill or courage to do it in first, fearing the wheelie when it entered the power band. At 120 in 2nd, about 1/2 -2/3 throttle, the front was on pavement occaisionally. It was clear I'd more than met my match.
