Love it, nicely done HiHo. Machines of the early days of the industrial revolution are absolutely amazing, unceasingly interesting, and so profoundly important historically. Electrical, mechanical, steam, internal combustion, propulsion or Rube Goldberg, they all seem to propel civilization forward and at the same time throw back to prior epochs of invention. Fascinating. Now, HiHo, can you explain how the thing the front relates to the thing in the back?
The hose is held on a rack that runs on the side of the pumper - very similar to another I shot digitally. I tried to get close enough to shoot the detail of the pump crankshaft, but would have needed an indulgence from the staff to go inside the cordoned area. The downtown FD has one so shiny you could easily shave in the reflection. Frame & wheels are - well - fire engine red - with gold pinstriping. I recently learned the state's big steam power show is more affordable than I thought. That should be a scream.
