80's shot of the merry go round on the Santa Monica Pier when it was closed.
'No clue on exposure, but it would have been my FE2 (when new) & 50mm 1.8 with Kodak gold 400.
Very nice - I really like the warm colours and the reflections (giving a vision of some motion blur ...).
I used a lot of Kodak Gold 200 (5096) back in the days.
Here is one I captured in 1996 on Road 101, outside Ukiah, California ...
Fred, thank you. For me, its not typical, not being a fan (or maybe just too fossilized in the imagination) with fuzzy or blurry. A few times I've had my predjudices overwhelmed by good work in areas I don't prefer. Jim Galli in soft focus, Sly recently using pinhole & pano. My imagination needs that kind of stretching.
The truck shot - the flash was really well used, The light blue/green of the truck & fence seem perfectly illuminated. 'Don't know how much of 101 you traveled, but from Ukiah north to Warren/Astoria is a rather worthy reward to the eyes, as is the Olympic penninsula further North in Washington state. I've not traveled there, but I suspect the coast of British Columbia is very impressive. Perhaps we'll see images from Andrew some day.
@HHS : I was in Ukiah to visit my elder brother Bernhard (if you should come down ask for Bernhard's Autobahn) -
I left the 101 and drove to the Mendocino Headlands via Montgomery and Comptche, than back south to San Francisco via Highway 1.
I would like to see the BC coastline but today I have a family and some other obligations ...
