The organist's story was rather beautiful. 'Rags to fame, a minority boy ran away w/ the 2 most prestigious awards in the world in a blind competition. Its not Grace Cathedral in SF, but he shook the floor more than once.
It doesn't come out in mono but the pipes are the normal white steel. The cutouts for each sound hole were brass or yellow plate. 'Very striking.
It is a nice photograph but I am not entirely satisfied by the truncated organist. The light on the organ pipes is pleasant and well captured with a long exposure without blurring the organist.
Organist not blurred was shear luck - and I'm amazed myself. One shot of David Hurd before the concert began, has him a blur of motion, but gives nice detail to the pedal stops.
I have been to the West coast of the USA but hmm. I sometimes ring bells cast in the 14th century. Some things are made to last. Two Nations divided by a common language. Oscar Wilde. Unlikely we will ever agree after your revolution thing.
'No doubt true. We have 'carpenter' gothic. You've got the real thing in stone. 'Some of the finest monument statuary I've seen. The cathedrals are every bit as good as anyone says. Even the ruins of some of them. There's much to love & hate in each place. From each, we capture stories in the universal language.
