Interesting series from the Beaverton Veterans Memorial - this one I like best.
I can recognise those engraved plates / bricks with names of servicemen who lost their lives for their country.
What do we have in the front of the photograph - kind of a bombshell ?
Thank You, Fred. Its a torpedo, near the naval section of the memorial. The tail of the torpedo is interesting for me, though I failed to get all the tones I wanted. 'Will post later. I did like the tones on the nose of this end.
It is, Nodda. At the center is a concrete replica of submarine prow at the radical upward angle of an emergency surfacing - frequently dipicted in film. The plaques themselves are for the ships, with the number of crew lost in each. Its the submarine equivalent of the earlier image of my 8/3 post 'Gathering Again', with images of each ship & either the number lost or 'all hands lost'.
