a very nice abstract Daniel...but...are you going to let us in to the secret of what is is?

Lovely all the same.

Thank you for the kind comments. This photograph is of trees reflected in the pebbly surface of a frozen pond. The texture of the ice has removed all of the high frequency information in the trees and left just the sinewy forms. I also flipped the image vertically.

The first question I get from my wife when showing her a new print is, "Hmmm, what is that?". I enjoy abstract compositions and I really enjoy John's (jnanian) abstractions. When I look at his work, I often think, "There is so much there there without the 'there' being in your face". I keep trying to get more of that "thereness" in my photographs, but often find myself shackled by a dependence on realism, either consciously or subconsciously. One can but try, and try.

All the best,
Daniel
