for an 8x10 shooter 16x20 is not a "REDUCING back" it is more like "HOLLY S>>T" back...

I'm using COT320 and potassium oxalate also and am getting tones near to this with complete Palladium coatings and lower contrast negs.

I'm really interested in finding out your relative proportions of soln. 1 and 2 and also that of Pt to Pd ... Was the neg contrasty ?
