This took a good few seconds to sink in. A vet in the U.K is short for a veterinary surgeon which is a very lucrative profession so I had to look to see if there was an explanation. I get it now and it's a sad sight
 
@pentaxuser Thanks for commenting. . .we all learn about other cultures/language! Here in the states veterans can be seen on street corners, in tent cities, and under bridges. Some are homeless, some have issues with drugs or alcohol abuse; all deserve respect for their service.
