Hillside Logging Road

Hillside Logging Road

4x5 silver contact print.

The woods of Pennsylvania have always been my favorite place, hunting stands, fields, creeks, wildlife... it's where I had my best childhood adventures. These old logging roads turned into trails are all over the state and provide access to many of the things I photograph. I've spent countless hours walking them and have recently began to photograph them.

This is from a particularly nice system of old roads behind the farmhouse into which I recently moved.

I grew up in Pennsylvania and remained there until I was 20. My home was not rural, but I loved to drive into the country as often as I could. I actually get a pang of 'home' with your 'graphs even though I've not lived there for 47 years. Odd, but a very warm feeling!

I too lived in Pa for 16 years and appreciate your photo reference to the woods and trails which I loved to explore ... Very well done ... Looking forward to more ....

thanks fellows! I like to travel and explore new things but I always feel like I'm doing my best work when I'm photographing what I know and love best. I'm glad some of you can share in my experience through memory.
