How did you get the edge burn with an APO Symmar on the camera? It shouldn't vignette.

Thomas : in fact, the lens is not the 150 but the 75 Super Angulon (I was sure it was the 150, and your question raised a flag, so I checked). I also used a Red filter (in addition to the ND3.0) and the vignetting comes from the wide angle. It is less pronounced on the negative.
 
This is classical example, when the photograph goes beyond our everyday experience and underlines mood of place and time. Perfect work.
