High School Graduation

My daughter wanted to do something more than a traditional color senior picture so I obliged even though I don't know much about portraits. She wanted to look like a tortured teenager and I was happy to try. I have some in lith drying which makes an interesting comparison

I wholeheartedly agree with Suzanne. It is indeed an interesting approach, and I think you pulled it off well.

What's a 'tortured' teenager, anyway? I'm sure your daughter behaves much better than my son (15yo), who feels tortured when he has to take the trash out, or help out with the dishes. Your take? :D

Thomas......my daughter and your son have a lot in common  She is a great and happy kid, but she likes the more hard edged portraits than simple, soft focussedhead shots.

That is a great portrait Mark. So well lit and conveys a really strong sense of light. Did you use a reflector at all, or was this just natural light? Great work either way!!!

We have an old building....actually a former sewage plant....on the lakefront. It has many openings where windows used to be, a and a cement floor. The background is a dark brown painted wall. If you go there on a cloudy day or in the evening, there is wonderful light there. I do wish I had brought a reflector, though for some of the other images. This area had perfect light with no help.
