Photography is a way to heal myself from stress and to clear my mind. It's good therapy!
And I did need some to deal with the raw facts of life ~ like loosing two parents within a year (my father Dec. 2015 and my mother Oct. 2016). Time to take a good look at myself ... how am I doing?
Tman. Its strong - most everything about it communicates powerfully. And it should. 'Wish it wasn't from pain. Taking stock of what's important is, indeed, healing. I hope you can't move 2' in any direction w/out encountering those that know you well and love you.
We are much alike. I used to call photography my 'insanity asylum'. Maybe that's a little heavy handed with the language, but sometimes that's how I feel, and photography helps me focus on something else for a while, something meaningful, and hopefully in the meantime the garbage in my brain will be processed and I feel better when I come out of the darkroom. Very interesting photograph.
Thank you all for the support. It's good to have APUG too - don't underestimate that!
@Thomas Bertilsson: I know what you mean. I have that also wandering around with my camera in the fields or alongside the river for hours - maybe only taking a shot or two. It helps clearing your mind and putting everything a bit into perspective - while scanning the scenery for a good shot. That's also why I love pinhole photography. The image is completely made inside my mind before I open the shutter - thus not leaving any room to go "frantic in my brain" anymore
Recommended for anyone with a burn-out or similar mind boggling matters at hand. It doesn't make the problems go away, but at least it makes the problems smaller (less heavy).
@HiHoSilver: I have a wonderful wife and two daughters and if I step in the fourth direction - for me there is also Jesus to walk and talk with me.
@dasBlute: "breathe deep the beauty of this moment" - not that's a perfect advise - will do, thanks!
