Heacham morning.

Heacham morning.

One of my earliest attempts, I dont no why but my favourite. Very misty morning there was no horizon and the guy in the boat slipped by like a ghost ship really eerie, would love to be able to print this neg. to recreate the atmosphere. Never seem to get there. C'est la vie.

I have to agree with everyone else. There is nothing wrong with your eyes, some great images coming from your darkroom. With a bit of work this one has the making of a great image. A start would be to lose the left hand side of the print, yes, the boat has to go, sorry. The trouble then is that you will be cutting off the corner of the front left stump of wood, but I think the image will handle it (just)

Then, after turning up the contrast, some heavy burning in, both bottom corners and the sky, so that the eye will then focus on the structure winding its way in to the photograph.

This is all in my opinion, of course. I hope my comments help.

regards and good luck.

Stoo.

Your comments are more than helpful, thank you. I will give your suggestion a try.
Am a big fan of your work so means alot that you noticed my attempts.
Thanks again.

Ps it's thanks to you I started posting. Read your article in B+W mag and you mentioned how useful the forum has been. So double thanks.

Snap! I've taken some pics of this same set of groynes, plus others taken along the Norfolk coast. I'm gradually putting them up a few at a time.

Looking at my own pic again, its not the exact same groyne after all, but its quite interesting to see the same subject from the viewpoint of eyes.
