She has very nice teeth. This could be an ad for a teeth-related product or service. Sorry, I couldn't resist! The face is very nicely lit but I have trouble with her neck which is a bit too much in detail and focus to be pleasant, if I make myself understood. Not that she doesn't have a nice neck...
Thanks for your critique, yes she has nice teeth . I agree there is something about the crop and neck that is not perfect (maybe a bit more burning on the neck). This was the only negative with this type pleasing reaction from her this close up and thus I am a bit a loss, i still like it but needs more work/thinking!
This is one in which a soft focus lens may have helped, that or less dof and a faster shutter speed. Which film was used, as tonality seems about right? tim
Hi Tim, next time i may try less DOF, i find it quite difficult to judge on the 180mm lens how much DOF I am going to get. The film I used for this shot was XP2.
The neck thing,...it's definitely a distracter: the skin's got that freshly plucked chicken look to it! As mentioned, it's remedied with a shallower DOF. As I understand it, you shot this quite tight, so try remembering to pull back a bit next time, as this will allow you many more cropping options in the darkroom. Lastly, I would have placed the skin value ever-so-slightly higher and/or utilized slight soft-focus, to blow-out the skin details a bit.
