Great shot but I disagree with your wish!!
This is a wonderful bird and you got him with a great look, at a great moment; Why distract the viewer with the background?
It's the bird, stupid, as President Clinton guys would say

Thanks Gaston. I would've preferred sharply focused eyes since its looking right at me, with an additional stop to provide enough depth for the snake. Its more obvious in a larger image.

I saw his cousin in my backyard today - a coopers hawk... i hope i did as well!

(the coopers hawk wasn't as successful, even though he hung around for an hour!)
