A "castle" built by the son of a coal baron. To compete with the only other local castle (built by his daddy)? Not a real castle, if you've ever been to Europe, but an overlarge and pretentious mansion for robber barons. It is now a school.
I've been to a concert inside. It's lovely. There are a number of more utilitarian buildings behind the castle, but the original gardens and ponds have been preserved and are open to the public
I grew up near, but not on, Philadelphia's 'Main Line'. Montgomery Avenue, and Lancaster Avenue paralleled each other going west and were lined with baronial mansions removed from those roads by long tree lined driveways. Many of those estates have been razed and redeveloped as mcmansion subdivisions, but there are a few that remain in the guises of private schools, institutes, and museums. You've rendered this one's grandeur well and the panorama format captures its pretentious majesty and generous estate.
Sorry about the title change, I didn't notice when I posted that the spell correct thing incorrectly corrected a letter. I'm thrilled so many like this. I love the millions of tiny daisies, and the flowering cherry tree taking precedence over the mansion. Patrick, other than some electrical tape, I haven't done anything. What could you do to a plastic box with a pinhole?
Sly, well you could eliminate the mechanical vignetting, modify the shutter, modify it for filters, put a coldshoe on top for a real level, flock it, put seals on the back...... Just off the top of my head.
