Keith- I usually use Ilford MGIV mat fiber. It has enough "tooth" to hold the oils, but not so much as to have the oils bunch up.

Thomas- Thanks. I used to do a lot of hand coloring. In the 90's, I even did some for other photographers. A nice side gig, which I wish was still an option.
