I used a yellow filter for all these. Even if i were to get back to Yo, i don't think i will try that hike. Not sure if the cable ladder is part of the JMT or another approach, but i definitely will never attempt that. I think it is amazing that doing the climb is so commonplace.
Thanks, Trail, especially appreciated from you. I have wanted for so long to photograph Joshua Tree and became even more anxious when i saw your photos back around Christmas time. Yes, a classic view, maybe overdone in some respects but no effort to to make a photo project out of the day. I had one roll of film in a 35mm camera and did a hike from the parking lot at Happy Isles up the JMT until the trail was closed going to Vernal Falls at the footbridge. Came back a horse trail. It was approaching sundown when i popped over to Mirror lake and finished the roll. The sunlight was beautiful, and maybe just because i was there this photo conveys that for me.
