Haarlem By Night

So called "House with the Statues", official name estate "Eindenhout". The House with the Statues got its name from the two sphinxes in front of the building.

After the Dutch "Golden Age" of the 17th century, many estates and mansions were erected in Haarlem and its surroundings by those who had made their fortune in the international trade and banking. Close to the Dutch coast and even today still beautiful dune nature reserves, it provided a welcome distraction from the crowded dirty cities.

This building dates from 1795.

Interesting building and wonderful composition. Love the snow on the branches and shrubs and the lighting.
