In spite of the uneven negative development (must agitate more) in the background I was hoping to get a few pointers/suggestions on portraiture and printing. Thanks for looking and for your comments.

I would suggest you remember how you arrived at this picture, because it's pretty much perfect for the subject. I cannot on my monitor really see any background imperfections, wouldn't expect to, especially with the delightful subject tones.
Many thanks for the kind words. All credit is due to my beautiful sitter, my two and a half year old daughter! She's unflinching and completely ignores me whenever I have a camera in my hands. I was able to dodge out the worst uneven background which is aligned with the sprocket holes of the film. It may be showing lighter and not visible on other monitors.
