I was looking through some of my older image posts and realized I used to write a bit more about the making of the image I was presenting.
I was early to pick up my wife from the hospital where she works and decided to take a walk around the university across the street. They were finishing up a rather large construction project in the back field and that's where this "unnatural" grassy knoll sat. I was immediately taken with the movement of the grasses and how thay related to both the tree line and clouds in the background. There was a small flock of geese making a considerable amount of noise just on the other side of this hill, so imagine that as the soundtrack! Only a couple of weeks later most of the hill had been removed and there was a large backhoe parked on top of what bare earth remained. If photography has taught me anything these last 26 years, it's been the ephemeral nature of life and "beauty"...
