A wider view of the land surrounding the famous Belvedere in Val d'Orcia.
This is from a place known as Viewpoint 2 (classy!), but instead of using a long lens from the ridge, I went in amongst these lovely grasses in the Olive grove. Two days later and they had been mown down.
Hard to see at this resolution, but the wheat ears in the bottom RHS have a lovely soft light and full detail.
just beautiful...this is what i have always dreamed of doing..traveling thru tuscany with a camera. i think i would have gone in amongst the grasses too...i feel as if i am there..thanks for the moment! ~~marianne
Yes, sorry, I forgot to mention that this is about 10-15 mins after the sun broke the horizon. I had done the standard 300mm shot first, then went to try something different/more original. After this, I went even further down the hill and shot something similar with a 90mm. This hasn't been processed yet, but am hopeful about it, since the mist was surging up and down the valley.
Good to see you posting again. Are you off with Light & Land teaching again? Great to see you pulling out the Velvia 50 stash... As always, another one of your excellent images.
Apart from the last few weeks, I just haven't been making that many pictures since the winter and so the whole process of getting them finished has slowed down.
Yes I was helping lead the Light and Land tour there. I am going to have to replenish the Vlevia 50 as I seem to have used a lot in this latest spell.
This image ought to have had a bit more UnSharpMAsk applied since the highlights in the grasses are subdued compared to the original. But hopefully viewers get the idea.
