grass blades in a stream

grass blades in a stream

I had to scan at a low resolution(150dpi). I exposed this to isolate the blades of grass. My wife doesn't think it works...comments are welcome.

I'm catching some detail in the shadows but if they're mostly just black, I think the print is going to look a bit flat...hard to tell from the scan, but you know that:smile:
i.e.-I LOVE the hammer postcard you sent and it looks 1000% better than the scan.

Thanks Vic. There actually isn't much detail in the water, because my intention was to isolate the grass in a sort of calligraphic way. I've been looking at Japanese calligraphy lately, so that was on my mind when I saw this. The grass in the water and on the banks is lighter on the print. Maybe I'll go back and try to lighten the image up and then post it again. I've got the mentality of trying to not mess with the scan other than cropping it.

I find if I scroll down and remove the top it completely changes the feel of the image. Still, it is a well thought out picture. Isolating the grass is effective.
