Grandparents

Grandfather's right shoulder is slightly blurred but the rest pin sharp. My guess is that he too was looking at the camera for a formal pose but he's not the formal type and when some thought came into his head, he spontaneously turned and spoke to grandmother because that was important for him . He's stopped his head just in time but his shoulder is still moving.

It's a natural moment between two people who know each other very well and the decisive moment is captured very well albeit it may have been by chance. The best shots often are.

I hope both are still going strong. I'll bet that he and she can remember what he said. He has been doing it since they met and she has appreciated this aspect of his character. A mutual admiration society - that's what long marriages are.

I might have got some or even all of it wrong but the shot inspired my interest and explanation. The best shots always tell stories.
