Grandaughter Ella, 7

this picture appears grainy to me. Not that I don't like it, I'm just curious if this is normal in 35mm Hp+ developed in a Paterson tank on an Ilford Cibachrome roller (continuous development). the time was 10 minutes, dilution 1+60, 68 degreees.

The developer was HC110, not "100".

I've never found HC110 to be particularly fine grained. My students use it as their main developer, and they often complain about it. They do get better results (better in the respect that they like it better) with the HP5 than they do with the Arista.edu film that the bookstore carries for them.

It's a beautiful portrait; of course, I may be biased somewhat, having a grand-daughter of the same age and another one year older.
