"loaded for bear" Wow Vic, what a phrase! I haven't seen or heard it since reading "Songs of a Sourdough" by Robert Service. My dad could recite the whole of "The Shooting of Dan McGrew with the actions. I was spellbound, listening and watching him.
A nice shot and a nice phrase reminding me of a parent long since departed
We're in Copper Harbor now after a soggy day of riding following a happy morning at the Aerostich factory in Duluth (candy store for motorcyclists).
Dangerous Dan? Well, while not exactly "crazed with hootch", I was feeling pretty benign after the feeding and watering we got at Rick and Barb's place!
Pretty cool, Graham. I'm not so wise as the lawyer guys, but I'm pretty sure "Crazed with hooch" is from the last verse of The Shooting of Dan McGrew. One of my father's friends could recite many of Robert Service's work, and I have fond memories of sitting around a campfire mezmerized by the The shooting of Dan McGrew and The Cremation of Sam McGee (The Northern Lights have seen strange sights, but the queerest they ever did see, was the night on the marge of Lake Labarge where I cremated Sam McGee...)
Yup, we were all pretty mellow after the food and libation.
I hope Yvan took a shot of you in your Austin Powers rainsuit!
Best, Rick.
