There's two interpretations of what is going on here. The "normal" one of two people caught up in one another passionately .
The second, a sort of "end of pier" black humour reminiscent of the long married husband and wife jokes that may be peculiar to the U.K. is that his face and hands indicate that he is intent on the business of strangling her and her eyes are closed as the air supply is being denied her.
It was just that the second interpretation on my part came so quickly after my opening reaction which was the "in-love" one that i felt I had to mention it
@pentaxuser Thanks for your comments. I purposefully directed his hand there to evoke (hopefully) a split-the-difference mood between the two you mentioned. That is, a sense of supreme trust that suggests deep intimacy: if you’re going to allow someone’s hand at your throat, it’s because you believe in them implicitly. And hopefully her hand on his belies that she’s about to get offed.
@ignatiu5Well I think that cliveh may well have been struck by the same impression as I which is that the hand around the neck the way it is and his expression suggests that he is "in control" in what may be a not very nice way but I agree you either see this as an alternative view or you don't
Perhaps I'm over reacting due to the terrible murders of women we have recently experienced in the UK. But a title of "Grab on to what you can scramble for" coupled with the hand round her throat does not suggest a romantic meeting.
