I've been experimenting with different ways to color my cliche verres. This one (a scratched 4x5 negative, printed on MGIV matte) was done with gouaches and undiluted watercolors. It's been sitting on my desk for a few weeks and has started to grow on me, so I'm sharing...
The black lines are created by scratching the negative. There is no “traditional” image there. It’s done on a negative developed to complete black then, using various items, I scratch off areas. I’ve posted a few in the past which show the technique more clearly ( especially the faux cityscapes).
