Old ranch house at Goodan Ranch (Poway, CA, USA), burned in the 2003 Cedar Fire. Print stained in (black) tea. Annoying scratch in the upper left occurred during fixing. :-(
annoying scratch looks like cracked beam of wood from here Man that fire was something else eh? In the last oh.. seven or so years California has burned off most of the truly old growth chaparral. We had our share up here too on the Central Coast with five very huge fires in the last 3 years. Its sad in a way when it happens, but it creates change that brings about newness and of course opportunities to photograph old burned out buildings. Nice job, by the way! I'm going to have to give tea a try some time. What kind of tea did you use here? Does it have to be freshly brewed tea? Can it be leftover leaves that are re-brewed?
Plain old Lipton's teabags, brewed MUCH stronger than for drinking---I think I had about 8-10 teabags in a quart of water, brought it to a boil, and let the print sit for about 7-8 minutes at very roughly 80-85 C. It's just a staining effect, nothing to do with the silver, so I would guess if your reused leaves still brew to a dark colour they would still work, but I never tried...
