Pentax K1000, 50mm f/2 @ 1/60. Kodak Tri-X 400 negatives developed for 4.5 minutes in Arista Premium. Straight print f/5.6 at 6 seconds. Work in progress.
looks like over developing on the edges. What kind of reel are you using. Plus 4.5 mins in the developer is fairly quick and this could have given you the over development.

Mike, I used a plastic reel and cannister. The edges are softer and less flared on the print than they appear in this scan. This was actually the second roll of film I've ever developed. You said 4.5 minutes is quick, wouldn't that lead to underdevelopment rather than over? How would the reel effect this? I appreciate any insights. I'm just getting started. Thanks, again.
If Mike doesn't come back, maybe PM him. Usually the contact sheet is helpful in figuring these things out. Could be just as simple as agitation. No matter, I like it just the way it is, kind of has that quaint analog hand-made look that works.
Thanks, David. That is the look I'm going for with this particular image. But next time the same effect could damage the negative and complicate printing. Thanks for looking.
