velly noice Frank - velly noice indeed. Bring the print along in April - I'm excited about the dales aready

Leon - Will do, if you bring some of yours! I'll freely admit to being lucky with the above. I stopped to take a shot 'cos there was some nice contre-jour lighting and the last remnants of a mist that had been around all day. I had one shot left on the roll and then a barge comes round the corner. Gravy! (I'm so butter-fingered with the Mamiya that it was past by the time I had the next roll in!)

After (late!) lunch, we drove over to Devizes, parked up near the Calne flight of locks and had a stroll by the canal. Good weather, good light, good company... Great day!

I like the photo but I have a question that has been bothering me for a while. Why do small format photographers ( I see this in magazines too) always want to tell you what tripod they use? Is it because you can shoot without a tripod and it is your way of telling everyone you used one. You never see a large format person saying they used a Ries or zone VI tripod! Just wondering

Hi Mike. I just put it down because it was part of the kit I used. No especial reason or thought process went into it. Glad you liked the picture, anyway. All the best, Frank
