i'm not one to consider subject matter as important thus i have to objection to a photograph of a glass but 80% of the image being out of focus thus emphazing the film grain doesn't do it for me. maybe i just don't get it. i would be interested in your intentions. this is the critique gallery so i hope i don't offend.
This picture is not about the glas, it is only the subject, the surrounding of the glas is abstract due to unsharpeness, the intention is to emphazise the abstract surrounding in a attempt to invoke a question about the situation.
Imo, grain is not a problem, it is a plus to the 'raw' feeling.
I try to get a 'feeling' with this kind of images, a 'feeling' over a strict visual expirience.
I'm playing with the idea to make pictures complete out of focus, just a game of contrast and silhouettes, mmm, I will try it and look foreward to you much appriciated comment.
