This was taken during a flash thunderstorm that rolled up on me on my way home. I had stopped to shoot a couple sheets of 5x7 color neg at the Georgetown waterfront, and almost out of nowhere the storm popped up. I moved under the Whitehurst Freeway for shelter, and pointed the camera at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Water Street. It worked out perfectly, as I got the rain-slick streets and a nice set of trailing headlamps and tail-lights.
I'm still fascinated by what does and does not record in these long exposures. The headlights of the one car that stopped at the intersection are very obvious, but the car itself did not record in the least, even when stopped.
