Genbaku Dome at Night

Feeling inspired by Andrew's shots, I found one of my own. This was taken in 2009 on a visit back to Japan to determine whether or not I wanted to return here to live and work.

Very nice! Nice 1940's film noire feel to it. I never did check Genbaku dome out at night...scary... I did shoot from this very spot during the day, but a woman walking past ruined the shot by accidently kicking my tripod during exposure. She actually snarled at me!

Thanks guys! I probably have more images of this location than any other in Japan. When I lived in Hiroshima this was our meeting point after the end of the work day. We'd often sit on the low barrier that surrounds the dome and drink chu-hais from the local 7-11. I was just getting into photography (seriously) then - in fact, one of the teachers I worked with helped me buy my first SLR - but I was focused more on slides at that time.
