Gavin Of Guinness, Brick Lane 2009

Spent the weekend in London meeting up with old friends. We walked down Brick Lane (the old East End), and came across a few unlikely characters who had seen the place like we never see it.

Gavin was one of them. He was drinking Guinness out of a Coffee mug, his pals were drinking real Coffee and Tea, so I bought them a round.

What a place, What people, what stories.

I intend to print this and another image I will post another day and return to give it to them.

Thanks for looking.

Superb !!
Unusual lighting and contrast really puts this in a class of it's own - love it

I not one of those who "buys" or "sells" the "okay, now smile" or "say cheese" routine. I like capturing what is. Not some made-up fantasy or poser, unless a poser is reality (have you ever been to Beverly Hills, or Sunset Strip? ahhaha). Anyway, this fellow is telling a story with his eyes. I LOVE IT! Very hard to look away. Must keep looking into those eyes.

You absolutely got him with this Kal, I think it is cracking. It's not just the stare and look but the way the eyes which are the darkest centre of the image completely transfix you. This will be a superb print. I love the use of the 'beast' to take it as well. There is a further project in Brick Lane, you know .... Love it, mate.

Fantastic. and with a graflex yet !
