400, but this was likely underexposed. I tried to keep things at 1/8s or up to reduce shake, which didn't work so well...

8th is pretty good. My limit is about 30th.
Try pushing the hp-5. Even at 1600 its not too bad for small prints. Might need to use a different developer, d-76 isnt too bad for a similar effect, but Microphen is better at not blowing out the highlights.

Pity you weren't a split second faster and catching the kid jumping infront of the fire.

Did you make several photos of this event? Might make a strong sequence.
