Fun with ferri

The same photo as http://www.apug.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=21485&cat=500&ppuser=6994 printed two different ways. I experimented with Farmers reducer for the first time and relly liked the control.
Now rescanned without streaks. It seems like matte paper needs to be totally flat to scan.

Either it's the scan, or the print was snatched way early from the developer, or it was an RC print going directly from developer to fix. There are some serious streaks going on here... Is it a really thin neg?
