what is the speed you rated for the Tri-X? I can barely see some details under the roof.
 
Great shot. Certainly doesn't look dark and gloomy- it's downright vibrant.

Darn I wish I lived in cleveland again. this reminds me of their fish market and how there was so much to photography. Great job with the light. I don't thing this would have worked if it was sunny.

So many ways of life are disappearing and I don't THINK I'm that old but am probably as old as the old guys were when they told me about things that were ancient history to me when I was young.
I rate the TriX at 200 and usually pull development a stop, I think in this case I developed normally. I definitely get enough roof detail in the print and on some monitors, it's about a zone 2.5 but the local contrast pops when I use kodak brown toner on this image.
Will repost after toning.
PS-I was in downtown Cleveland in '97 for a couple of days and found it very photogenic. Cool place.
