I found an abandoned autoshop with about a dozen old Corvairs in various stages of being reclaimed by the earth. They were more than happy to pose for me. This was part of a project for a photo calss Final. I scanned the negatives from the days shooting and they can be seen at http://homepage.mac.com/veriwide/PhotoAlbum11.html
Yes, they are "safe at this speed", except maybe for tetanus. I went back there yesterday to shoot these cars under snow, and hope to process on Friday.
For the youngsters among us, the Corvair established the fame of consumer advocate, Ralph Nader ( yes the same Ralph Nader who runs for president every four years ) , when he wrote the book, "Unsafe at Any Speed" about the Chevrolet Corvair of 1960-1970. R.I.P. ( Rust in peace).
