from benbecula to north uist

How do you get such good cloud definition with black and white? I have trouble doing that, is there a filter involved?

used a yellow gel. the clouds were there and the sky was clear. up north (this is the outer hebrides) the light is slanted and the atlantic is near which means the clouds are still relatively close to the ground. they haven't been pushed up by mountains or heat from the land.
