This is a real gem! It has a wonderfully nostalgic, 19th century flavor with contemporary clarity. It would be interesting to see how you'd manage a sitting like this with a larger format, and less accommodating depth of field lens that would keep a selective sharpness, but retain a softer focus for less important elements.
In an age of ridiculously over-the-top Velvia-style photo saturation I had almost forgotten how beautiful that subtle complimentary colors can truly be.
It's off, but it's wonderful. I have a whole pile of these with my daughter and grand daughter, that after looking at these, need a whole new appreciation.
