Foxtail Pine

The roots of a dead Foxtail Pine stick out of Chicken Foot Lake. (The Southern Foxtail Pine is a close relative to the Bristlecone Pine. Both pines are descendents of a common ancestor. Thanks for catching that Jeffrey)

Very delicate tones and contrast. Seems like very diffusive light and polarizer used (?). The resolution, sharpness and DOF is perfect. Are you thinking about some croping for print ?

Nice.

That's not a bristlecone, They don't grow around Little Lakes Valley. They are up in the White Mountains across the valley.

Regardless of species, that's still a very nice image of gnarled remains. Very nice website, too, Robert.
