This it the window in Lacock Abby where Fox Talbot exposed his first negative. This is fantastic but the bigger miracle, in my opinion, is that the National Trust actually allow you to photograph it!!!!! I know this is not the finished article, or is it??? Not sure whether or not to burn in the windows.
hmmm. Exposure - contrast - composition are not right. First, the windows are overexposed, giving no usable - interesting detail. Inspect the negative and if it has detail, try preflash in the printing stage.
The painting on the right reveals absolutely no detail: either you zoom out and give detail (by exact metering and exposing) or give it away by zooming in.
In parallel you do Fox Talbot no favour by framing him only half body...

I would definitley burn in the windows and the plant depending on how much detail is there. I really like window scenes so I like it a lot, but I too wish there were more of the portrait on the left perhaps losing the portrait on the right entirely.
