powerful...ironic...sorta abstract.you did a great job creating this powerful iconic image.the composition and tonality really make this shine.i call these "sky-scrapers of the plains" because of their relative soaring height compared to everything else around them. there is something about it that nudges my memory about some of the work done by photogs of the FSA during the "Great Depression". thank you for sharing this gem. smiling gecko, aka kennethwww.neverforgetbeslan.org
Thanks Brad and Kenneth, I really appreciate your comments. Kenneth, I love your nick name for them, I might have to borrow it And yes, I am very much influenced bu the GD images and especially work of Dorothea Lange. But that influence is almost unconscious when I photograph here. These relics that have been left abandoned since that time are a great reminder of the hardship. There is always that sense of respect and sorrow when I encounter them and I try to give it justice with my images. I have a lot of photographs of abandoned homes from this area that I should post in this gallery. Discovering the "unknown" Montana is becoming my new passion and I plan on spending a big portion of my efforts documenting the beauty here.
