Although they're technically the same subject, they're very different takes. This one I think feels more ominous, in part because of the doorway being completely black, whereas the other one has the door partially open and partially closed, which takes away from the yawning mouth effect. The other one is also more about texture and pattern, whereas this one is big geometric forms.
 
This makes the door look small, where in the other photograph, it looks like it is quite large. The darkness of the doorway makes me not want to go in there. The other one seems more inviting as you can see stairs as you come in. For some reason the triangle over the door reminds me of a pyramid and eye. I feel like I would have stood a few steps to the left to center the door up better, or move to the right to really offset it. The contrast between the brickwork, the grass and the molding around the doorway make an interesting effect.
