FORSAKEN DREAM

I took this shot earlier this year while travelling around Co. Donegal with a few friends. I've used this title for many of my shots taken of abandoned houses as I feel every house is built as a dream home. I usually print on a smaller sheet of RC paper before making my final print on a 12 x 16 Fibre sheet. This is the smaller sheet which I can scan.

Magnificently forlorn. I can hear and feel the wind. And the silence. Those hills in shadow on the right key the tones. Perfect use of the panoramic format for this subject. Just beautiful.

Well done... I like!! How long did you have to wait for the shadows in the background to be exactly right?

Stephen beat me to it, the first thought in my mind was how nicely balanced everything is. Well done, that's really beautiful.

To Old-N-Feeble & NedL, It was one of those shots where the sun comes and goes. When it moved off the house it lit up the hills in the background and vice versa. I was waiting for the sun to light up the house.

It all came together perfectly. A sad yet lovely feeling about it and a fine balance has been achieved. Well done, Victor.

Lovely print, Vincent! Abandoned buildings are a testament to our changing culture, and how dreams change. Terrific.

Thanks very much everyone for your positive comments, I hope to print a 12 x 16 version this weekend.
